Those that know me, know I love animals. My obsession started last year and when I adopted a four week old kitten. Since he joined my family, I've become obsessed with animals. I have some amazing friends that help with a dog rescue, Alma Rodriguez and her husband, Fabian Sanchez. They're part of Crittersinneed.org. They dedicate all their free time to rescuing dogs and have some four legged "children" of their own. Pictured above is one of their "kids", Mickey, who was rushed to an animal hospital last night. 'We had to rush Mickey to emergency again today :'( There was an altercation between Mickey and another foster, and of course they're ALL bigger than Mickey (only 3.5 lbs), and although it was just literally SECONDS, I found Mickey on the floor with our other foster on him! He was on the floor unresponsive, eyes wide open and I wasn't sure if he was even breathing or not! The other foster is normally a real angel so who knows what caused it... Fabian Sanchez and I rushed him to emergency while I gave him quick CPR in the car while he drove like a madman to emergency! He finally responded a bit & blinked but I kept breathing for him. After we'd taken him in he had a seizure as well :'(..... He doesn't have any visual trauma but one of his eyes seemed bloody inside and the Dr said he could have had some internal brain trauma as well. They have him on oxygen, pain killers and valium. The first 6 hours are the more important... please say a prayer for our Little Mickey ♥"
Although this is one of their own dogs, Alma and Fabian spend so much of their own financial resources caring for the fosters they care for at their home. Mickey's care will run them between $2,500- $2,900. They could really use the publics help.
