Obsidian Girl Treasury List on Etsy

I am very excited because my Black Jasper Swarovski Skull bracelet was featured in this fun Treasury List titled Obsidian Girl. The curator created a collection of gifts that would be great for that cute, quiet, dark, spunky girl we all know and love. I am very honored to be featured in her collection of beautiful gift ideas.

Chat With Antoine Saba, Art by Antoine

When my husband Al and I first moved into our high rise apartment, we wanted our overall decor to be modern and hip. Once the paint and furnishings were settled on, we desperately needed to dress up the walls but couldn't agree on any art we both liked. One day, our building had one of many events and it was by chance that one of our neighbors, Antoine Saba, was a very talented artist also residing in our building. We purchased a beautiful piece by Antoine that now hangs in our living room and I took a moment to talk with Antoine about his art.

Tell us about yourself

My passion for art started at a young age. Ive always thought that the best teacher was nature, better than any artist. I can spend hours staring at landscapes, rivers, oceans, trees etc. The color schemes, patterns and composition presented to me  in nature provide me with my inspiration to want to take those colors and manipulate them into modern contemporary art forms. My goal is to not recreate a portrait of nature but to capture the essence and beauty of it in my own way.

Art by Antoine Saba
I have dedicated my life to making art. I enjoy every minute of it and I feel like I am a part of nature when I paint. Nothing makes me happier and I wish to share my passion with the world.  I currently show my work in many galleries in Orange County and was recently named Artist of the Year for the city of Santa Ana in 2011.Here are some of Antoine's beautiful pieces.

Organic Airbrush Tanning by Live Beautifully OC

That's me on the right with my airbrush tan. On the left is Krista
of Windsday Handmade Goods!
My go to gal when I have an important event and want a "just back from vacation" look is Joanna Roche, Live Beautifully OC.

Joanna offers custom airbrush tanning which is perfect when you're looking for a sun-kissed healthy glow, or a deep tropical tan without the harmful effects of the sun.

Every airbrush tan I have ever received from Joanna has been perfectly even with just a hint of shimmer. And the smell is absolutely yummy. She's a perfectionist and always ensures your tan is even and then explains how to maximize the life of your airbrush tan.

Joanna also offers eyelash extensions and Lash Dip for beautiful looks without mascara! If you live in the Orange County area, I highly recommend paying her salon a visit! You can visit her website here, or
call her to make an appointment at 949-355-5482.

Current Fashion Trend & My Dilemma - Skinny Jeans

One of the hottest trends in fashion right now is the Skinny Jean. And it isn't going away for spring either. Only this time, they're coming in colors named: Tangerine Tango, Solar Power Yellow, Cabaret Pink and Solidite Blue. And let's face it, regardless of the color we ALL want to fit into our favorite pair of skinny jeans.

So here's my problem, after months of being sick on and off, months of slacking and the holidays, well, let's face it.....my favorite skinny's don't fit! So what am I going to do. Well let's face it ladies, there is NO magic diet pill or magic diet drink that can instantly make all that go away. It's going to take good old fashioned healthy eating and excercise to make those extra pounds melt away.

Now, if you're my Facebook friend, you know I've just come from a cooking demo in my building consisting of hearty cheese filled chile rellenos, sangria, margaritas and some dessert called "Diablo Chocolate Cake" (and you know anything called Diablo is sinfully delicious!). But let's face it, things have to change.

Earlier today, I met with my former trainer, Jackie Nguyen, regarding a weight loss plan. In my next blog I'm announcing my "30 Day Skinny Jean Challenge" And I'm inviting my PL Swag gals to join me in the challenge. So meet you all in my next post!

Romantic Looks for Valentine's Day

Looking Chic in Chunky Sweaters

Looking Chic in Chunky Sweaters

The key to looking to looking glam in chunky oversized tops is to minimize the bottom. Leggings, a maxi skirt or skinny jeans will help balance your overall look and help keep you from looking and feeling frumpy. If your sweater or top is too long and you want to accentuate your waist throw on a belt to cinch your waist. Throw on some fun heels and baubles of course to complete the look!
